Here is a one of a kind cast heavy plaster mannequin head. I made it and it is signed by me on the back. I did a dozen or so casts from this a mold I made myself. Each is painted differently. This is one of 2 that I have left. I haven't come across the other yet. We used these to display merchandise at our shop, including sunglasses, scarves, and hats, knit caps, hair pieces, and mens ties. Also, we used them as center pieces in both window displays and display cases. The bold form always attracted attention, and if you know retail, that is the key.
Many of the items I'm listing this week were only used in our shop for display purposes.
It is in very good condition, it has a metal loop on the back so it can be hung on the wall or from a hook. It is very heavy, perhaps as much as 10 pounds. Its solid Fix-all, which I like because it makes a better, longer lasting cast than plaster. It feels like a rock that has been honed and carved, but its cast from a mold which I also created.
It is about 9 inches long from forehead to chin, and is about 6 inches deep. It is a life size cast, the original was modeling clay.
It's a great piece, and would look great on the wall as work of art. However, it was created by me, Max Rainet, as a shop display item. I think its probably a good 12-14 years ago I made it, but its not dated.
