Use 50% of the converter's full load current to maintain a 5% voltage balance
For CNC applications, double the converter hp and use at least a 7.5 hp Converter.
NOTE: load and idler are wired into control panel
9 lead motors: connect (4,5,6) windings T1=(1,7) T2=(2,8) T3=(3,9)
12 lead motors : windings T1= (1,6,7,12) T2=(2,4,8,10) T3=(3,5,9,11)
If you need your converter to start when a pump calls for water, or a compressor calls for air, our DIN rail mounts allow timed functions to be seamlessly added for automatic or unattended operation of your Rotary Phase Converter.
Save money with GENTEC American Rotary's built-in motor starter and automatic controls. The converter will start automatically at the touch of the "START" button and is conveniently pre-wired for remote start and time delay. Shown: cut-a-way of the back of one of our Rotary Phase Converters shows how the starter ties into the bus bars used for power connections.
Push Button Start/Stop Switch with ON indicator Lamp
Easy light touch ON and a Safety Raised OFF button for simple control of your 3-phase power. The light indicates the converter is running and it's brightness indicates the amount of load.
Every phase converter goes through a series of bench tests to make sure it is within spec. We voltage balance our converters so that voltage sensitive equipment and significantly smaller loads will not see unbalanced currents. Among the tests done are line to line voltage balance, power-factor, phase shift, and synchronous time constant (start time)
A three wire latching circuit assures that the converter will turn off and not restart when power is restored. This is controlled by the momentary pushbutton switch shown in the photo to the right. This protects both the converter and the equipment hooked up to the converter.
We put extra effort into making sure our components can withstand the demands of continuous phase conversion. This often means thicker materials, tighter tolerances, and better quality control. The capacitor cores in the picture are being wound with a film that makes their voltage rating higher than normal because phase converters can often see higher voltages during startup.
The picture to the right is a Motor Start Capacitor. They determine the inrush current when starting a rotary phase converter. The combination of our rotary phase converter control panel with any T-frame, 3-phase motor produces an economical rotary phase converter.
When your equipment is out in the elements, a phase converter may also need to be mounted outside. We offer our same proven rugged control panel designs in NEMA 3R enclosures.
American Rotary has been in business since 1991. We continue to lead the Industry in rugged, reliable Phase Converters. We also lead the field in innovations such as Soft Start, Bus Bar Connection, Voltage Balance and Integrated Starters.
