Brevel reduction gear motor gearmotor model r calliope

This is a Brevel Gear Motor Model 'R.' This has about a 1:22 reduction ratio, and is a low voltage DC motor-probably 12 to 24 volt-beyond that I know very little. This measures about 6 in. long including the two shafts-the face of the gear unit measures 2 7/8 by 3 in.-the motor housing is 1 3/8 by 3 in.-the output shaft measures 1/4 in. I hooked this up to a DC power supply and this works just fine-it has a lot of torque for it's size.
This has moderate overall wear. This is a note I found referencing this item: " bought a Tangley Calliope
in Newton Kansas. The roll frame feed motor just
The roll frame was made for Mike by George Cooper, formerly, but no
longer, of Nevada, Iowa. It is a 12 volt DC motor with attached gear
box. I spoke to Mike, and he gave me a Grainger Motor number (4Z838)
as the replacement motor. I bought it but find that it is not the
right motor. It is 12 volt DC, but the wrong output shaft size
(it has 5/16 inch, the original is 1/4 inch); the wrong RPM (at 13.5
volts - the output of my battery charger used to test it - the
original produces 40 RPM, the Grainger produces 28 RPM); and the wrong
shaft and mounting hole configuration.
The Original Motor was a Model "R", made by Brevel Products, which has
been since bought out many times and finally disappeared into the vast
complex of Maytag Corp. It appears that Brevel is no more.
