The solid state electronic amplifier contains power supply and amplification circuitry, readout meters, controls and machine control output circuits. Meters,indicator lamps and controls are located on the front panel and external connections to the measuring head, the machine and power supply are located on the rear.
The amplifier furnishes four output signals for complete automatic control of the grinding cycle, switching feed rates and other machine functions at predetermined points in the cycle.
The control signal firing points can be set at any value from +0.020" to zero. A corresponding signal lamp on the front panel of the amplifier lights up when each automatic control output signal is provided by the amplifier. The zero control is internally set, thus no adjustment is provided on the front panel of amplifier.
The amplifier is an in-process system which can operate with either a single transducer or the sum of two transducers. The system can be used for either inside or outside diameter applications to gauge a variety of different parts.
