This is a used Kenwood TK-840(N) UHF Mobile Radio, 25 watts, with .30 uv sensitivity receiver. This radio is set up for the Narrowband 12.5 kHz channels which become mandatory for business band in 2013. The modification for narrowband consists of sharper crystal filters in the receiver which keep out reception of adjacent channels. It can be used on conventional channels as well, though it will present slightly less receiver sensitivity when it receives signals using 5 khz modulation.
