In addition to feeding them high quality feeds. I keep all my birds in large chicken tractors (movable pens) and grow large highly nutritious feed plots of brassica and legumes for them to eat. This way I can move them weekly so the birds and eggs always stay clean. It also improves nutrition witch I beleive the better the nutrition in the egg the stronger the chicks are when they hatch.
