Hughes Network Systems Reference Module
873.600 MHz TX-LO / RX-LO Outputs
Functional Description (as per Hughes Network Systems Manual)
The Reference Module performs the following functions (when used in the ground station):
* Provides TX-LO and RX-LO outputs of 873.600 MHz
* Provides an 8.192 MHz clock output
* Provides a 10.000 MHz reference output
* Provides a Lock status signal indication the Lock status of the synthesizers on the module
* A multi-pin connector brings power, ground, and control signal connections to the module, and output the Lock status signal, 10 MHz reference, and the 8.192 MHz clock.
* 800 MHz Phase Lock Oscillator (PLO)
* Upconverter outputs of the 800 MHz PLO & the 70 MHz Synthesizer are mixed in this block to generate TX-LO and RX-LO outputs. Includes a narrow band dielectric resonator filter (DRF) centered at 872.5 MHz which provides the necessary filtering to remove all spurious and undesirable mixing products. The output signal from the filter is buffered and then split into 2 paths to be sent to the TX module as TX-LO and to the RX module RX-LO.
* 8.192 MHz Phase Lock Oscillator: The output of this block is from the 8.192 MHz voltage controlled crystal oscillator. This oscillator is also phase-locked to the 10.000 MHz reference. There are two outputs from this circuit: a digital differential output and an analog output.
* All synthesizers on the module are hardwired for the specific output frequencies. NO external programming commands are required for operation of the module. There are NO control switches or visual indicators on the Reference Module.
* I will send a copy of the manual page with the above info PLUS the remaining info which was too much to list!
