Dead Set. Lamp will intermittently come on then go off
after 2 seconds. Red lamp light will light, even though
lamp inside is good. Fan will be seized up. Look into the large left air intake
grill with a flashlight (back of set). You can see the fan blades. Turn on set
and observe blades. If they do not turn, then fan is probably bad.
I had 2 of these come in within a week - bad cooling fan.
Replace this if new lamp does not fix problem.
A bad Sony lamp can also can cause intermittent picture.
I cannot guarantee a fix, but this is the recommendation by
Sony, and I have repaired 2 sets this week with this part.
