The electric motor is manufactured by AO Smith. The Brand name is Century (AO Smith purchased Century several years ago).
Cause for premature motor failure is improperly sized wire supplying power to the motor. If the wire run is long, and the wire is too small it will cause the motor to draw excessive amps, especially on startup, causing the the internal motor start switch to arc and fail, eventually burning up the motor. Remember, on initial motor start up, the motor can draw as much as 4 times the rated motor name plate amperage for a few seconds. We recommend the motor be installed by a "qualified" licensed electrician. Another area to watch is dirt, paint, oil, saw dust and other material in the air that might get sucked into the motor.
