The O Ratchet was conceived several years ago by a young engineer/ inventor and part time mechanic as he worked on his automobile in Dallas, Texas.
He faced a situation where a deep socket was required, but couldn't be used due to tight quarters and obstructions.
After hours of tedious maneuvering to remove a nut from a bolt, the young man wondered whether a better design of sockets and drive tools could be developed. After all, numerous types of vehicles
had been continually down sized over the years, making the mechanic's job even more difficult. The basic design of sockets and drive tools, however, had remained the same since their invention at the turn of the century.
From this beginning grew an idea and, ultimately, a product which may well change the way sockets and drive tools are used and, perceived.
Over several years, prototypes were built and tested. Patents were secured both in the United States and a number of other countries. The final result was the Introduction of the O Ratchet product
line. Today, the benefits and varied applications of O Ratchet products are being recognized by professionals in a number of fields as well as the. do it yourselfer. This product is unique.
Superior materials and manufacturing methods are used to ensure a consistently high degree of quality for the O Ratchet product line.
The ratchet Is forged from 6230 Chrome Vanadium Steel. The current version, the 3/8 drive equivalent Is manufactured to exceed the American National Standards Institute B107.1 specifications. ANSI standards required that the ratchet withstand 1800 inch pounds of pressure.
In tests Some distributors tests our products exceed ANSI standards by 25% and have passed rigorous tests exceeding 2250 Inch pounds.
Our quality control lab consistently tests our product to exceed 125% of ANSI specs. on inside drive applications and 200% of ANSI specs. on outside drive applications in other words, it is always
twice as strong as the bolt It is being used on.
Sockets are cold formed out of Chrome Vanadium Steel and all parts are heat treated for additional hardness.
