Triquint TGA8650-epu laser, optical modulator driver

Laser Modulator Driver Post TIA AGC in Receiver Chain
30 kHz - 14 GHz Frequency Range 11 dB Small Signal Gain Gain flatness +/- 0.15 dB 6 Volt Peak to Peak Output (power bias) 3 dB Noise Figure at Mid-band Dual Gate AGC (10 dB gain control) 50 Ohm Input and Output Nominal Bias 8V @ 80mA (150mA power bias) Package Dimensions 0.682 x0.450 in.
The TriQuint TGA-8650 combines a GaAs
low-noise distributed amplifier MMIC with additional circuitry into an eight pin leaded package for use as
a multi-octave gain block amplifier. The packaged amplifier provides 11-dB nominal gain across the 30 kHz to 14 GHz band with a 3 dB midband noise figure. The typical peak-to-peak output voltage is 3 to 6 volts depending on bias mode. Ground is provided to the circuitry through vias to the backside metal. The broad bandwidth, dual gate AGC, gain flatness and output voltage capability make this MMIC suitable for applications such as laser modulator drivers and post TIA AGC gain stages in optical systems.
A 10 Volt P-P output version has been demonstrated.
