Miniature 12V Electronic Timer Relay
Power Requirements: 12volt dc min:10Vdc max:15Vdc [at below 10Vdc power indicator LED does not illuminate]
Output: 4PCO relay: FOUR sets of relay changeover contacts.
Output connections are volt-free [i.e. contacts are electrically isolated from power supply to timer]. Rating of each switching contact is 3amp resistive load [contacts can be used together in parallel] For operating loads in excess of 3amp starting current a suitable 12V power relay or solenoid must be used. I can possibly supply 20amp and 40amp power relays at a discount - please ask for availability.
Delay period set via dial on front of relay. 4..8seconds* minimum up to 10minutes maximum. *Minimum time period varies slightly from unit to unit - it seems to be generally around 6 seconds [+/- 2seconds]. Times cannot generally be set to an accuracy better than +/-5%. Certainly not without the dexterity and patience of a safe cracker.
Function: Timing commences when power is connected - after the set time period the relay switches all 4 changeover contacts. Relay remains in switched position until power is removed. See diagram below: u represents power to unit and the bottom line represents the action of the relay. Where the unit is operated for less than time T the relay does not operate and when power is removed the timing is reset. [i.e at each operation it will always start the timing from zero.]
Although the timer is a single-function ON-delay timer it is possible to use this timer to generate an initial 12V output which is switched off after the preset time: The relay has changeover contacts NC and NO so by connecting the 12V positive to the unit through to the NC contacts a 12V positive output is switched ON when power is connected to unit and removed when relay operates.
Connections: Screw clamp terminals in plug-in base [fingerproof] 2 terminals for power [13 and 14] - 12 for the 4pole changeover output.
Indicators: 2x LEDs: Power ON LED. Timing status LED.
Fitting: Clip on base for mounting on a length of standard 35mm top hat din rail. Or can be fixed to a panel with two machine screws M3 or M2.5.
Fitting Instructions: Electrical specifications and a numbered terminal layout plan and switching diagram are printed on the side of the timer. The relay base has terminals numbered to correspond with this diagram.
