If your hose becomes damaged, all is not lost - just unscrew the fitting and install it on a new hose. Unlike other hydraulic hose fittings, these thread directly onto the end of a hose and do not require an adapter. Fittings are made of steel bar stock with a zinc-plated finish. NPTF (Dryseal) threads are compatible with NPT threads.
For installation you'll need a vise and a wrench. First secure the hose end portion of the fitting in the vise. Next dip the end of your hose in oil, screw it all the way into the fitting counterclockwise, then back the hose out a half turn. Finally, put oil on the other end of the fitting and screw into hose end; use a wrench on the hex nipple to tighten.
