A phoropter (compare with Phoroptor: a trademarked name by Reichert for their range of phoropters) is an instrument commonly used by eye care professionals during an eye examination, containing different lenses used for refraction of the eye during sight testing, to measure an individual's refractive error and determine his or her eyeglass prescription.
The following details are in regards to model 11320. The model for sale here is 11325, but the details are the same as best I can tell.
* SPHERICAL LENSES: +16.75D to -19.00D (0.25D steps) two-sphere power dial combination.
* CYLINDER LENSES:0.00D to +6.00D (extendable to +8.00; 0.25D steps, refinable to 0.125D).
* Due to additional information, we are relatively certain that this is actually a Plus system measuring from 0.00 to +6.00 due to the cooresponding numbers being in black.
* CYLINDER AXIS:360 degrees (double 0 -180 degrees scale, 5 degree steps).
* CROSS CYLINDERS:+/- 0.25D standard (+/- 0.37D, +/- 0.50D optional).
* ROTARY PRISMS:20 prisms each (1 prism scale graduation), paired gives 40 prism in any base direction.
* PD ADJUSTMENT:48 - 75mm (1mm scale graduation).
* READING DISTANCE:5 - 28" (plus cm & D scales).
* AUXILIARY DIALS:10 lenses and 2 open apertures.
