The new headgear is great for all of these reasons, PLUS, the positive locking stop at the top so your helmet will clip into position and stay up - it won't keep falling in your eyes. Additionally, it's still really easy to flick the helmet down with just a shake of your head; the lock at the top doesn't make it hard to flick down. This is a really big deal - it's a feature usually only found in the more expensive welding helmets.

The Tillman man says to basically order your normal shirt size (S, M, L, XL, etc...) and my personal opinion, if you're on the fence with sizes (I wear a size M regular shirt) to go one size larger (I wear a size L welding shirt).
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under the underarms and around the shoulder blades. The number of inches shown is your chest size.
Also note that your sleeve length is measured from the base of the neck to the shoulder, down to the elbow, and to the wrist.
