The Portapress has been designed by Dunlop Hiflex for swaging hydraulic hose assemblies, with modified dies it has the capability to swage Icore 400 range of conduit and ` J ` type fittings.
With the portapress being such a compact machine it can be used as a permanent fixture or as a portable machine for mobile work.
The machine consists of two pressure plates held together with three tie bars in between which a hydraulic cylinder is housed.
Attached to the cylinder ram is a ram head which has been machined out to accommodate elbows, bends etc.
The front plate and ram head also have tapered slots machined in to accommodate and provide an accuratelocation for the bonded die sets.
The die set consists of eight swaging fingers equally spaced and bonded together with rubber.
The rubber bonding insures the the sets remain intact and are easy to store, also loading of dies into press is made easier.
The taper profiles in the in the front plate and the ram head move the die fingers inwards when the cylinder ram extends.
Setting mandrels are supplied with the portapress machine to allow a quick and simple approximate swage size setting operation for both hydraulic assemblies and electical conduit applications.
Portapress will successfully swage one and two wire braided hose and multi - spiral up to 1 1/4"ID
and the full range of `J` type fittings up to 2".
Useful in Industrial or Commercial applications in many situations..
DUNLOP HIFLEX HOSE STRIPPING KIT.
The stripping kit can strip multi spiral one and two wire braid hoses up to and including 1 1/4" bore with little effort.
It is not necessary to use a reversible chuck as the tool can be held in a vice during the stripping operation.
This facility enables the kit to be used in the field (where electrical power is seldom available) as a vital part of the portapress portable swaging machine package.
