UHMW ( Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is a very slippery plastic with extremely long molecular chains. It is a relatively soft plastic that can be worked with any woodworking tools. It maintains flexibility even when chilled and absorbs almost no water, making it ideal for marine applications. It is also used in robotics, toys, and food preparation ( it is a foodsafe product).
WARNING - UHMW smells like a burning candle when it burns, but the drippings are NOT WAX and can cause 3rd-degree burns.
