New tan itz rack and pinion table saw fence
Here is a rack and pinion fence from a Tannewitz table saw serial # 1855, built in 1924.
The fence is in very good condition, with the following details:
At some point in its life, the sliding rack bar was broken, but
it has been expertly welded, as seen in the photos. This is a strong and precision repair, using the proper nickel welding rod and cast iron welding technique by the most talented artist/welder I have ever seen.
One side of the locking lever has a small closed crack where the pin goes through it to hold it on the shaft.
The fence bar will need some cleaning and old paint removal. The rest of the fence mechanism has been glass beaded and is ready to paint.
This fence is in very good accurate and smooth working condition.
Included are the two pins for locating the fence to the table, but not the single clamp-down knob with threaded stud.
The pin center distance is nominally 14-7/8 inches.
