The PowerReach 1280 300-pin MSA transponder operates at the OC-192, STM-64, and 10 GE data rates. It also operates in 10Gb/s systems with Forward Error Correction (FEC), increasing the bit rate operation up to 11.3Gb/s. The 16-bit electrical interface operates at 1/16 bit rate. The module is housed in a 300-pin standard package with common electrical interfaces. As part of the Avanex 10 Gb/s LFF Transponder family, the PowerReach 1280 TRX provides convenient and flexible optical interfaces for 50GHz spaced DWDM systems. The performance of the 1280 exceeds the applicable optical transmission standards, namely, ITU-T G.691, ITU-T G.709, Telcordia GR-253 and OIF SFI4-01.0 standards. The transmitter can integrate either a full C-band or an L-band continuous wave laser connected to an external LiNbO3 modulator, while the receiver side can integrate a Pin or an APD receiver (APD-VOA in option).
