Caterpillar D4 7U - pony motor
This pony motor ran very good until the day the magneto was damaged. The motor still turns free and is complete right down to the 12v starter, air cleaner, gas tank and lines, belts, pulleys, etc. and has not been disassembled.
The distributor/magneto has been damaged (see pictures of drive gear missing teeth). I am told that the damaged magneto was caused by a worn crank bearing causing execssive drive gear play/misallignment resulting in damaged mag and mag gear. Anyway the magneto is included and could be traded in as a core. Magneto information is as follows:
