The Taylor 9940N has a white plastic casing consisting of 2 pieces, the front panel assembly and the rear bracket. To disassemble, simply unscrew the screws on the left and right side of the LCD display. Inside of the thermometer, there is a switch which allows for the temperature digits to be shown in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The 9940N is small and measures 3-1/2 inches wide, 2-inches tall, and 1-1/8 inches deep. The LCD display measures 1-7/8 inches wide by 3/4 inches tall.
