Introducing an impressive powerhouse of a magnet! These rare earth, neodymium-iron-boron ROD magnets are new, and are triple plated with nickel/copper/nickel to prevent corrosion. Unlike the smaller ROD magnets I offer, these reach the size where you can expect to get "pinched" if a pair of them grab your skin. This size is also large enough to chip or break if two are allowed to smack together, bare magnet to bare magnet.
Each of these neodymium ROD magnets measures 0.4" diameter by 0.3" thick.
The magnetic poles are the flat circular ends.
Edges are slightly beveled, which minimizes chipping and breakage.
If you have never met a rare earth magnet before you probably cannot imagine the amount of magnetic strength that is packed into such a small chunk of metal. The uses for such a versatile material are endless!
These ROD magnets are easier to remove from the fridge than thin DISC shapes and these ROD magnets will hold items to the fridge or file cabinet with an aggressive magnetic passion. This size is easy to mount into wood by drilling a 0.4" hole and gluing them in or pressing them into an undersized hole. Tools or other items can be organized by magnetically suspending them from a magnet.
It is truly educational, fun and somewhat magical to explore the new level of magnetism made available by this modern magnetic technology. Most of us remember our early magnet experiences fondly.
