These were to be used in an engine manufacturing facility to supply fuel and vaccum during test running of engines. They grip with a collet and seal on the outside diameter of 3/8" nominal tubing by pulling the cam lock lever. They would also work as a fast acting plug by plugging the 1/8" pipe thread tap on the other end. I am not sure of the pressure capabilities of this particular style, but according to their website, some variations of this series are good for 750 psi. Please note that these have the 1/8" pipe tap on the same side as the lever pulls when gripping (the website indicates the tap on the opposite side).
