A) While developing this product, we worked with many contractors who were tired of seeing their profit margins literally thrown onto the ground by careless workers or rushed crews. From hand sanding to using milk cartons, we ve seen it all, and hands down, every crew and every owner we ve dealt with has loved this exciting new product.

A) It s true, practice makes perfect. With about 10 minutes of practice, even the most novice of users with a prior knowledge for how much sand is needed can master the technique. Like most things there are variations, and each one will produce different results. We developed this product to be held stationary at the side while walking or held out in front of the user for alligatored or oddly shaped crack fill.
6. Q) Does the material ever clump or clog in or out of the unit?
A) This unit is designed to be used with clean, dry, silica sand. Any debris such as leaves, pebbles, or grass clippings will adversely affect the spread pattern. This unit will not clump or clog else wise. The proprietary spreading mechanism was developed specifically so that no matter the direction of travel, be it a straight line, or an L, or Z, the coverage is the same, nice and even.

8. Q) I ve never heard of putting black sand on crack filler, what s the purpose?
A) As documented in the Field Manual for Crack Sealing in Asphalt Pavements published by the Center for Transportation Research at the University of Texas, Austin, and adopted by the Federal Highway Administration, the application of fine aggregate or sand to the non-cured sealant [is]to prevent tracking. And for Sealant Protection, Hot-poured sealant surface is covered with fine aggregate or sand.
Basically, the sand not only allows pedestrian and auto traffic to pass over warm filler without tracking, but prevents future tracking when the rubber again becomes sticky in the summer heat. Also, the durability and lasting quality of your work is increased via the sand adding another layer that must be worn through before the crack fill wears and fails.
