Ammonia leak detection pipe thread tape - test/monitor

Ammonia Leak Detection Pipe Thread Tape
Detect any faulty or defective pipes/joints with this new innovative ammonia sensitive pipe tape. This specially designed Teflon tape conveniently and economically detects ammonia (NH3) leaks. The tape has visual indicators that change color identifying leaks or defects in pipe systems, joints and couplings that contain ammonia. The tape, similar to the use of standard plumbers tape , is simply wrapped around the pipe or fitting to be inspected/monitored over time. Prevent ammonia contamination and pin point leaks to the exact pipe/joint.
The tape can be used to readily inspect the integrity of new or existing pipe systems and joints. Through routine visual checks, piping can be subsequently monitored over long term periods of a year or more. A glance at the tape color, even at considerable distance, can reveal whether a leak has developed.
* Reliable - no false positives.
* Visual indication - easy to install and use (no tools or special equipment/knowledge required).
* Continuous monitoring - 24/7, 365 days a year.
* Long lasting - up to 1 year.
* Unaffected by ethylene, propane, carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen and many other gases commonly found in cold-storage environments.
* Easy to use - wrap the desired pipe/joint/coupling with Ammonia Leak Detection Pipe Thread Tape and the protective overwrap, then simply observe for color changes.
* Humid environments will not affect performance (0-99% rH).
* Reusable - repeat testing capability.
* NO additional equipment - simple human eye observation is all that's required. No electricity, maintenance, or special customization required.
* Reacts to ammonia at concentrations below the detection threshold of many other sensor instruments, while capable of withstanding extremely high levels of ammonia.
Similar to the use of standard "plumbers Teflon tape", simply wrap around the pipe/fitting/joint 1-2 times. Be sure to continue to hold tightly until tape is firmly overlapped. Finish by wrapping the transparent, protective over wrap 1-2 times over the just-applied tape until firmly secured. With easy visual checks, pipes/fittings/joints can now be effortlessly monitored and inspected over long term periods of a year or more depending on the surrounding conditions.
Keep out of direct sunlight for extended periods of time and avoid prolonged exposure to fumes given off at temperatures above 140 F.
* Operating temperature: -45 F to +140 F
* Operating humidity: 0-99% relative humidity
* Reactivity: 0.01ppm, however this can be customized to respond as low as 0.005 ppm for special applications.
* Use on: steel, galvanized and black iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, glass, synthetic rubber and all plastics.
* Appearance/color/odor: Orange when no ammonia is present; green to blue with increasing levels of ammonia exposure. No odor.
Low-level leaks may signal that a larger leak is developing, and long-term exposure at low levels can be just as damaging to products as major leaks. Many current detection systems are plagued by non-functioning sensors and false alarms - expensive errors that can cause you to unnecessarily compromise your CA environment and/or risk product loss.
"To say I was impressed with your technology would be an understatement.
Your detection products enable us to easily make quick visual assessments of ammonia status. Having experienced their effectiveness first-hand, we feel much more comfortable and confident with our leak management capability and risk reduction program. The ability to detect a leak sooner, when it is small, will allow us to deal with it more effectively and prevent more serious, costlier risks later. It's nice to know that someone has finally come up with fast, reliable, easy-to-use and highly sensitive ammonia detection products." - Tom Malissos of Stemilt Growers, Inc.
