HARDINGE "COLLET-TYPE" RELEASING TAP HOLDER
USED HARDINGE COLLET-TYPE RELEASING TAP HOLDER
The collet-type releasing tap holder is used to provide thread length control on machines that have reversible spindles. The unit can be used for either right or left hand taps by switching a lever in the body of the tap holder.
The tap holder mounts into a machine turret or a round shank tool holder.
TT type tap holder collets are used for accurate holding and centering of taps. To provide a positive drive for the taps, the collets have a square holder in the back to accommodate the square of the top shank and a notch in the back bearing of the collet that fits over a hardened pin in the bottom of a holder
Ten tap holder collets are available to hold taps from a 0 tap size to maximum, including 1/16 and 1/8 pipe tap sizes.
