Chicken plucker plate, shaft and 125 plucking fingers
Great bundle for a DIY poultry plucker like the whizbang! For sale is an aluminum plate for a DIY poultry plucker, Steel flanged shaft, and 125 plucking fingers (All made in the USA!). I've attached a picture of a blank plate and also one with the fingers installed. Please note that the fingers do not come installed, you will have to do that yourself.
The plate is made out of .190" 5052-H32 Aluminum and has 66 holes for Poultry plucking fingers. The plates are cut with a CNC laser which is a very accurate piece of equipment (far more accurate than a messy plasma cutter). Each of the 66 holes will be chamfered to simplify the assembly of your feather plate and fingers as mentioned in the book "Anyone can build a tub-style Mechanical Chicken Plucker". There is also one center hole (for a 1/4-20 bolt).
Four Stainless Steel 1/4-20 screws and 3 Stainless Steel Nylon lock nuts are also included for your convenience.
Please note in an order to keep your costs down and remain competitive, we have changed the shaft design. We are now using a steel shaft and a hub. We will include the hardware to mount the shaft and hub. Please note that you may still receive the welded shaft until we deplete our inventory.
I have built several of the DIY chicken pluckers and used this pattern and it works great. Based on this plate design and the barrels I've used, you'll need 115 or so plucking fingers (always nice to have a few spares also). References and photos available!
