Designed for vertical mounting inside a refrigerant recovery tank, this level switch is rated for in-tank pressures to 400 psi and temperatures from -40 deg F to 221 deg F. Strict guidelines must be followed for switch installation in 30# and 50# D.O.T. refrigerant cylinders.
For use in other applications, the switch may be inclined up to 30-degrees and can be supported from above or from below. This switch contains an hermetically sealed magnetic reed switch housed inside a brass stem. A permanent magnet imbedded inside the stainless steel float controls opening and closing of the reed switch. Contacts can be changed to operate as "Normally Open" (Close On Rising Level/Open On Falling Level) to "Normally Closed" (Open On Rising Level/Close On Falling Level) by simply inverting the float on the stem. Also, if the switch is mounted from below, contact operation is changed from N.C. to N.O.
