These are new spare boards for a very expensive caving/hiking headlamp.
Easily modified to drive 2 x 1W LEDs or an array of many standard 5mm LEDs and perfect to experiment with and make your own camping lights, cycle lights and emergency lighting projects. Very small and light, these would also be great for model cars, boats and aircraft. There are two tactile switches on the board plus a battery status LED. Use these to make low voltage high efficiency LED projects
Three brightness modes, flash mode and high power boost mode. Designed with a thermistor component against the LED heat sink to shut down in the event of overheating - this feature can be ignored if you adequately cool your LEDs or incorporated into your design by remotely mounting the thermistor.
It is very easy to extent the two tactile switches to another location and alternate switches by prising the tops off them and soldering leads to the terminals on either side. You'll need reasonable skill in soldering but it really isn't rocket science.
